SportsMapping provides 3D topographic maps of golf courses and communities. This terrain
information can be combined with photography and mapping information to provide the superintendent
with very accurate 3D views of the golf course and surrounding areas. SportsMapping displays the
entire golf course in 3D shaded relief or can ‘drape’ the aerial photo image onto the 3D surface
map. This can be used to demonstrate and show drainage patterns as well as multiple perspectives
or virtual views of the course for future planning.
Contours are used on courses where construction is being planned and are needed for engineering
work. Contours can be generated in 1-foot, 2-foot, 5-foot or 10-foot intervals.
